Recipe Help & FAQs

Can I use fresh ube instead of extract?

Fresh cooked ube is great for flavor and texture, while extract intensifies color and taste. Adjust extract to your preference.

How do I make these bars vegan?

Replace dairy ingredients with coconut milk or other plant-based milks for a vegan-friendly dessert.

How long should the bars freeze?

Freeze bars for about 5 hours after layering, or until they are completely solid and easy to unmold.

Can I use other nuts instead of pistachios?

Yes, almonds or cashews work well if you need a substitution, but flavor and color will change slightly.

How should I serve these bars?

Unmold and serve straight from the freezer. A drizzle of condensed milk and a sprinkle of chopped nuts add a finishing touch.
