# Directions:

01 - Combine grape-flavored gelatin with 1 cup boiling water in a mixing bowl. Stir thoroughly until dissolved, then add 1 cup cold water.
02 - Portion approximately 2 tablespoons of the prepared grape gelatin mixture into the bottom of each of the 8 clear cups. Chill for 30 to 40 minutes until set.
03 - Sequentially prepare, dissolve, and pour layers of berry blue, lime, lemon, orange, and strawberry gelatin over the previous set layer, allowing each to chill and set fully before proceeding. Each layer requires 30 to 40 minutes to set.
04 - Once the final gelatin layer is set, crown each cup with whipped cream and garnish with rainbow sprinkles if desired.
05 - Chill until ready to serve. Present cold for optimal texture.

# Expert Advice:

01 -
  • You can make each cup as bright or mellow as you want, secretly tweaking colors to match the mood or theme.
  • Kids love watching the layers build, and adults inevitably start reminiscing about their own childhood treats.
02 -
  • If you rush a layer before it’s set, the colors blend and the stripes disappear—I learned this after one impatient batch ended up marbled instead of striped.
  • Using clear cups makes all the difference; opaque cups hide the magic and dampen the surprise.
03 -
  • An extra pinch of patience between layers saves so much cleanup later.
  • To prevent condensation that blurs the layers, wipe inside the cup just before pouring each new Jello.
